It’s been a while.
In two hours I’ll be heading off to Taiwan for another two months. No real plans for the summer — just me, my suitcase, and a year’s worth of lesson plans/curriculum to write.
A lot of things have changed in a year. To name a few:
- I’m back in Connecticut, probably for at least another five years.
- I teach Chinese for a living now.
- Make-up is kind of a thing.
- (I finally figured out how to fix my eyebrows, though!)
- I haven’t written about K-pop in almost a year.
To that last point: Do I miss K-pop? I’m not sure if that’s really a fair question to ask anymore, considering that I’m almost completely oblivious to what has happened in K-pop over the past 2-3 years. Shinee’s recent comeback got me back in the game for a bit, but that’s it. I still have to remind myself every now and again that B.A.P isn’t a rookie group anymore. My K-pop membership card was probably revoked a long time ago, and I’m not going to pretend that it’s still mine to have.
That being said, I do miss writing and blogging. It’s a little bit more difficult to do either nowadays, what with #reallife getting in the way (hi, parents of my 200-odd students who are reading this!). But even if it’s not about the latest SM music video or Minho’s bad acting, I figure it’s still a good idea to write every now and again. The plan is to put up a post every few days while I’m in Taiwan. We’ll see how that goes.
So here’s to new things. To kick things off, here’s a cover of a song I did a couple of days ago. Two weeks of arranging, recording, editing, and mixing. *sweatdrop* (Guess that music minor ended up being useful after all!) Enjoy.
